The EHWG Leadership Initiative was designed to transform the lives of young Black boys who have been an opportunity to dream. These are young men who have also have the desire to progress and escape the sometimes mean streets of urban America.
The only thing that these young men are missing are organizations and/or individuals who believe in their dreams and are willing to assist them to achieve their many desires for a quality of life deserving of any and all young boys regardless of their condition, racial make-up, and economical situation.
The EHWG Leadership Initiative and its loyal and trusted mentors will ensure that each young man that comes through the nine-month-long initiative will be in a position to take control of their lives and become effective leaders within the families, professionally, and in the communities where they live, work and play. The EHWG Leadership Initiative's primary objective is to each year, disburse into society, 20 young men who will be equipped to "Change the World."
These are the young boys trapped in urban America and who are eagerly roaming in enclosed rooms without doors. LI's responsibility is to help these young men open doors to opportunities. The Leadership Initiative was geared towards helping guide the next generation of emerging leaders. These are young men from the ages of 14 - 18 who don't completely understand their gift and how to access their internal power to change where they live, work, and play.
These are young men who are somehow trapped in generational poverty and dysfunction. Again, these are young soldiers who Carl calls lost and confused young men who have all of the symptoms of greatness but are stranded in rooms with no doors. LI will open doors within these urban rooms that have prevented them from discovering their potential. LI's mission is to open doors to Black Excellence! This is what these four men above whose names are embedded into the Leadership Initiative did for Mr. West. They opened doors of opportunities that have helped secure his future while also remembering and acknowledging his past and stamping his present monumental space within his community.
Since embarking on business over 20 years ago, Carl D. West, CEO of MG Media, a promotional marketing and media company, has presented impactful programming and partnered with organizations around Chicagoland to magnify Black voices and stories in the city and beyond.
And as founder and managing editor of TBTNews, Mr. West has expanded his media company as a content creator. West got his start in the industry by creating The TRUTH magazine, a ground-breaking hip hop culture publication, created TBTNewsService.com, an e-commerce web portal, and produced The TRUTH Hip Hop/R&B Awards.
He founded TRUTH 4 Literacy, an after school mentor program. Carl is co-founder of the Next Generation Leadership Council (NGLC). One of the initiatives that he is most proud of is his newly formed 'think tank', The TiTaNs, which is a collective group of individuals whose primary purpose is to explore and find solutions to some of urban America's most pressing concerns.
